EURO LINKS AND HOSTING
The Rotary Foundation's Group Study Exchange (GSE) program is a unique cultural and vocational exchange opportunity for business people and professionals between the ages of 25 and 40 who are in the early stages of their careers. The program provides travel grants for teams to exchange visits in paired areas of different countries. For four to six weeks, team members experience the host country's culture and institutions, observe how their vocations are practiced abroad, develop personal and professional relationships, and exchange ideas.
At the end of October 2009 Waterlooville Rotary Club hosted four Indian guests, together with their Group Leader for the last 5 days of their visit, during which time they were involved in vocational visits to local businesses as well as spending time visiting the local sights of Portsmouth Dockyard and Gunwharf Quays. We also took them further afield to visit Oxford so they could capture the essence of the English way of life. This is a programme which is an amazing experience for our visitors and was once again sincerely appreciated by them all.
