COMBATING MALARIA
At the end of 2009 the Rotary Club of Waterlooville gave a donation towards the campaign to eliminate malaria in Tanzania. Under the guidance of Past District Governor Dr. John Philips a team of 20 people have just returned after setting up a REMIT programme (Rotarians Eliminating Malaria In Tanzania), a very exciting programme that will be in operation for years to come. The work includes purchasing mosquito nets, house spraying, clearing breeding sites and general education of the people in Tanzania.
