CHARITY SPEND
Not until we reviewed the last 5 years did we realise what a lot we have
actually achieved.
At the same time as enjoying ourselves we raised £55,744 for the good of
humanity. This sum was all spent to help:
· The Young
· The Old
· The Disadvantaged
· Enhancement of Careers
· Victims of Disasters
· Development of Life Skills such as public speaking, young chefs,
and mock interviews for those about to leave school
Our MAJOR SUPPORT, locally, nationally and internationally included
· Naomi House (children's hospice)
· Wheel Chair Foundation for Third World landmine victims
· Earthquake Appeal
· Local play area construction
· Falklands Veterans Association
· A local cancer trust
· Home Start Havant (support of families under severe stress)
· BASICS (doctors attending major road traffic accidents to stabilise
the patient at the scene which does save lives)
· Russian Orphanage
· Tsunami Appeal
OTHER SUPPORT. Although smaller amounts have also been donated
they meant a great deal to the recipients. In all there were 68 occasions
over the 5 years where we have helped. In addition there were occasions
when just a helping hand or the pointing in the right direction was all that
was needed. We used our knowledge and connections all at no cost.
There is not enough room here to list all the ways we are helping. Suffice
to say it is satisfying.
