Speakers
As you will know from elsewhere on this site we meet each Tuesday evening. Every month we have two speakers, well, most months. Taking other events into consideration in the course of a year we have some 18 talks on different subjects which makes for a varied programme. Light hearted, full of content, thought provoking and entertaining - we have them all.
This post is being written February 2009 and as we were chartered in September 1976 the less mathematically challenged will see that we must in that time we have had well in excess of 580 different topics. By freshly filling the post of speaker secretary each year this means, over time, that a balanced programme is produced.
The talks are mostly 35 or 40 minutes long including questions which rounds off the evening nicely by about 21.45. Nothing strenuous by way of an evening, just very, very enjoyable.
